Saransh, Charanjot and Siddh: The Indian esports team for the FIFAe Nations Cup 2022

Beginning on July 27 at the Bella Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark, India will compete in its first FIFAe Nations Cup event. India is the third-ranked South Asian nation in the esports equivalent of the FIFA World Cup, behind Singapore and Japan.

It now holds the 18th spot in the FIFAe Global Series with 715.37 points, which is the highest position it has ever had (FGS). The eTigers were placed in Group D alongside powerhouses Netherlands and Italy. Mexico, Poland, and Morocco are the other members of the group.

The top-ranked esports players from India, Saransh Jain, Charanjot Singh, and Siddh Chandrana, are all set to represent their nation in the FIFAe Global Series under the leadership of veteran coach Lokmanyu Chaturvedi.

Saransh Jain (Saransh_Jain7)

In the South Asia gaming rankings, Saransh Jain is presently the top-ranked Indian. At a young age of 16, Saransh began his esports career and went on to win the Asian Football Gaming Championship (AFGC) as he represented and competed for India on the international esports arena.

Most recently, he and Navin Haridoss defeated Mumbai City FC to win the inaugural eISL season for Chennaiyin FC. “I’ve been playing for five years and I plan to play for another 5-10 years to compete at least,” he told Sportstar.

Saransh, who won the first edition of the Indian LAN Gaming LXG Bangalore and the national qualifying rounds of the virtual Bundesliga, is the first Indian to qualify for the FGS. He also already holds a number of other national championships.

Charanjot Singh (chelsea_CJ12)

Because he didn’t have a console at home, Charanjot Singh began gaming as a supporter of Chelsea and practised at a friend’s house. He started his professional career at the age of 18 by defeating Lokmanyu Chaturvedi and Saransh Jain, two prominent national esports players. The former will now be his coach and the latter his teammate in the upcoming competition.

“I thought if without serious practice I am this good, I should continue and with the lockdown and everything in the past two years, I have got a lot better,” he told Sportstar.
The young man from Chandigarh, who will play alongside Karman Singh for India at the Asian Games in 2022, really hasn’t looked back ever since. One of his most notable victories was last year’s FGS Singapore Open triumph with Aditya Chadha.

With a second outing this year, Charanjot maintains a 100% success rate in qualifying for the FIFA World Cup from India after winning the first AIFF Football Challenge, India’s first step to the tournament in 2021.

Siddh Chandrana (Jenasid)

Siddh is the lone FIFAe professional from India to have represented Mesut Ozil’s esports team, which includes former Germany player and World Cup champion Mesut Ozil (M10 esports).

“Last season (in 2021), we came agonisingly close to making history but lost the final game of the qualifiers. It stuck with us for a long time. We’ve worked hard ever since, and our only goal was to qualify for the FIFAe Nations Cup and make history for the country,” he told the eISL website.

“The job is not done yet. We will look to work harder over the next month and make sure we are prepared to take on some of the top nations in the world,” he added.

Lokmanyu Chaturvedi ( lokmanyu06) [Coach]

One of the top players in the nation, Lokmanyu has played in the FIFAe India stage for five years now. The 26-year-old played for Kerala Blasters in the eISL, the esports version of the Indian Super League, and was a long time member of the Indian esports roster.
As a professional in esports, Lokmanyu has made a name for himself as a streamer, coach, and player. Additionally, he was among the top three players for the FIFAe Nations Online Qualifiers 2022 Play-Ins.
