TEC Invitational Season 1 for BGMI announced with prize pool of Rs 5 lakh

The Esports Club has announced its first-ever mobile esports tournament titled TEC Invitational Season 1 for Battlegrounds Mobile India. The invite-only tournament will feature the top 20 teams of Battlegrounds Mobile India that will compete against each other for a prize pool of Rs 5 lakh

“Initially, we decided to focus on our strengths, creating some of the best PC esports events in the region over the last 2 years. However, we felt this was the right time to enter the mobile ecosystem with our first BGMI event with others in the pipeline as well,” said Ishaan Arya, Co-founder of the Esports Club.

“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes for our mobile expansion and the TEC Invitational is just the first step. We always believe in providing opportunities for players and creating a valuable platform; over the next few months you’ll see more BGMI opportunities from TEC that are open to all gamers across India,” said Mansoor ‘Nabu’ Ahmed, Director of Esports of The Esports Club.

This tournament will begin on August 21, 2021, and will continue till August 24, 2021. Esports Club is set to focus on BGMI, similar to other gaming tournaments, with recurring events. Furthermore, Krafton has also launched BGMI on iOS Apple Store.

BGMI crosses 50 mn downloads mark on Google Play Store

Within less than two months of its debut, Battlegrounds Mobile India has been downloaded 50 million times from Google Play Store in India. The company announced this major milestone in its journey by gifting a ‘Galaxy Messenger Set’ permanent outfit to all players in addition to some other rewards.

Earlier this month, Krafton, the South Korea-based game developer, announced some special rewards for the 50 million downloads mark. However, we cannot say that BGMI’s milestone is surprising because PUBG too led the track with wide acceptance and massive popularity before its ban in India.

Before its prohibition, PUBG saw the face of fame with over 180 million downloads and a user base of 33 million in India alone. It crossed 1 billion downloads worldwide in March this year.
