After the success of Day 1 of India’s biggest gaming expo, the G2G Expo 2022, the hype and excitement for Day 2 was already at its peak as the speakers and guests were ready for round two of exciting events awaiting them all.
The events for the second day of the G2G Expo started around midday with a keynote address on “Online Gaming Industry: An Atma Nirbhar Dream” from Dhruv Garg, Head of Legal & Policy, AIGF.
Garg talked about how the online gaming industry in India has been reaching its goals to create a self-sufficient online gaming environment by itself and how several policies to boost the growth of new gaming companies are being formulated and implemented.
Post the keynote session, a panel discussion on “Central regulation for online gaming: End of uncertainty?”, moderated by Jay Sayta, technology & gaming lawyer, took place discussing how stringent laws are now being introduced for online gaming. The panel included Roland Landers, CEO of All India Gaming Federation, Vinit Godara, CEO & Co-founder of MyTeam11 and Vidushpat Singhania, Managing Partner, Krida Legal.
The panel discussion was followed by a presentation on “GST on Online Gaming: Updates and Developments” by Sudipta Bhattacharjee, Partner, Khaitan & Co. Bhattacharjee enlightened the audience on how GST is being levied on online games and shared updates in that regard.
After a short networking lunch break, the event resumed with Hanish S, Partner, HKSA & Associates delivering a presentation on how GST on casinos, horse racing & lotteries works and what more we can expect in the future.
Subsequently, Devon Dalbock, the General Manager of GLI Africa, delivered a presentation on “Role of Test Labs in the Gaming Industry” and how it can be useful for the gaming sector in the near future.
Next up was a presentation from Soumitra Bose, a senior journalist who has decades of experience covering the industry. He enlightened people on media and the perception challenges which the online real money gaming industry faces.
It was followed by another excellent presentation on “The importance of brand building & the role of PR, marketing & media in creating successful brands” by Shamilee Daru, Founder of 4WD Gaming.
Following up on that, the final panel discussion took place on “Blockchain gaming and metaverse: Future trends of gaming in India”. It discussed the propsects of blockchain gaming and how it is becoming popular day by day. The panel consisted of Anirudh Rastogi, Founder of Ikigai Law, Dr. Sudhir Kale, Founder & CEO of Gameplan and Bharat Patel, Director of Yudiz & Secretary General, KCCI.
The closing remarks were delivered by Jay Sayta, Advisor for G2G Expo, thanking everyone for attending the first edition of the G2G Expo and making it a huge success.
This marked the end of sessions on the final day. The G2G Expo 2022 would conclude with an afterparty and dinner which are scheduled for all attendees.
