7. Doyle Brunson

Doyle Brunson is a renowned professional poker player hailing from the United States. Texas Dolly, as Brunson is affectionately known, announced his retirement in 2018 after a 50-year career. He was the first person ever to win $1 million in poker tournaments and is regarded as the most influential person in the game of poker.

The only other players to have won as many WSOP bracelets as Brunson are Phil Ivey and Johnny Chan. Texas Dolly was one of just four competitors to win the WSOP main event twice, in 1976 and 1977. He was also the first gambler to win the WSOP Main Event as well as a World Poker Tour championship.
