Ranbir Kapoor and ED

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor for promoting an illegal betting app. The app in question is Fairplay, which is one of the apps under Mahadev Book’s international betting network.

Mahadev Book is considered as the biggest illegal betting network in India. The ED has been investigating the case since a very long time. Recently, ED also booked many prominent names linked to the app’s operatives across the country, as per The Indian Express.

Now, Ranbir is to appear in front of the agency for interrogation on Friday, October 6. This development comes soon after the ED found about Rs 112 crore transferred to an event management company through hawala channels.

The event firm was responsible to make wedding arrangements for Mahadev Book’s mastermind Saurabh Chandrakar. The firm then used the money to hire celebrities that visited and performed at event in Dubai.

Bolly celebs under ED’s radar for appearing at Chandrakar’s wedding

ED recently raided the premises of the managers of the celebrities that visited Dubai and seized a total of Rs 2.5 crore from multiple locations. Furthermore, the agency also plans to summon the actors for visiting Chandrakar’s wedding as well as promoting the platform.

Some prominent actors that are currently under ED’s radar include Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Bhagyashree, Kriti Kharbanda, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Vishal Dadlani, Pulkit Samrat, Neha Kakkar, Elli AvrRam, Bharti Singh and Krushna Abhishek.

As of now, it is estimated that the entire betting network is worth over Rs 5,000 crore. Officials are already processing to issue a red corner notice(s) against Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal to get them under the belt.

It is worth mentioning that Chandrakar and Uppal are hiding and operating the entire betting network from Dubai. They train small operators and punters in Dubai and send them back to India for running the mafia.
