Head Digital Works, the parent company of A23, an online rummy platform, has appointed its first-ever CFO in Prabhakar Sunder, former Voonik CFO. Sunder has taken charge of his new role on 15 July 2021.
Sunder has a pretty impressive record of accomplishments including his tenure at NewGlobe Education prior to which he was serving as the CFO in companies like Voonik and Myntra.
HDW released a statement confirming Prabhakar’s joining: “Prabhakar will be working closely with the Board to strategize, build and lead the growth and global expansion of HDW brands including A23 and Cricket.com. His focus will be to build and lead business and functional teams across key markets, and handle HDW’s corporate functions,” said the release.
This appointment came during a time when online gaming is facing severe opposition from individuals across the nation. But as a matter of relief, the Madras High Court demystified the wind by striking down the provision that could lead to a ban on online gaming while saying that it is a game of skill and not a game of chance.
