Reliance Games and Atari collaborate to expand free-to-play market

With Atari’s free-to-play portfolio and Reliance Games’ expertise in gaming development, data analysis, and Live Operations, both companies have collaborated, and Reliance Games has acquired the rights to publish Citytopia.

“Reliance Games has been integral to the development of the free-to-play space in mobile gaming. We are excited to continue exploring and evolving that space now, leveraging Atari’s immensely engaging content. It’s hard to imagine a more appropriate partner to help us play on to our strengths and bridge the gap between players and the entertainment they crave.” CEO of Reliance Entertainment Digital, Amit Khanduja.

As part of a strategic partnership, Reliance and Atari have agreed to work together on many other free-to-play from Atari’s portfolio.

Reliance Games has demonstrated competence and a solid track record working with big brands and entertainment IPs, offering up more than 500 million downloads and hosting more than 5 billion gaming sessions annually.

Through this alliance, Reliance will continue to support development studios all over the world by offering investment, consulting, and LiveOps support.

Atari is a provider of interactive entertainment and one of the most recognizable consumer brands in the world. It has a portfolio of more than 200 video games and franchises under its control, including well-known names like Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, Pong, and RollerCoaster Tycoon.

The CEO of Atari, Wade Rosen, said, “Reliance Games is a leader in the free-to-play space, and we are excited to be working with them on mobile games. This partnership ensures that our portfolio of mobile games will continue to provide value to players and to our shareholders.”

The collaboration between Reliance Games and Atari opens up several possibilities for many other companies in India and might encourage other foreign gaming companies to shift their attention towards the Indian gaming sector.
