YouTube streamer Paras Kumar arrested for racial slur on Arunachal Pradesh MLA

YouTuber Paras Kumar, who goes by the name ‘Paras Official’ on YouTube, has posted a video on Sunday allegedly termed Arunachal Pradesh’s MLA Ninong Ering as a non-Indian and Arunachal Pradesh, a part of China  . This happened because as Ering written a letter to PM Narendra Modi and urged to ban Battlegrounds Mobile India .

Soon after a case has been registered against Kumar by Arunachal Pradesh Police and he will be punished as per law. “Such mindset harms the unity of our country. Union Home Ministry had already issued strong advisories to all States & UTs to ensure protection and dignity of North-East People,” tweeted union minister of state for youth affairs, Sports and AYUSH (Independent Charge) MoS Minority Affairs. Following the incident Punjab Police searched and taken Paras Singh under custody while Arunachal Pradesh Police team is reaching Punjab. Rijiju has spoken to police commisioner of Ludhiana to speed-up judicial process for transit remand since it is an inter-state arrest so that Kumar can be brought to Arunachal Pradesh.

However, esports aficionados are eagerly waiting for  the game to come back at the same time Kumar’s behaviour  has been condemned .

Esports Federation of India director and Asian Esports Federation (AESF) vice president Lokesh Suji, while condemning shared: “ESFI strongly condemns the derogatory remarks made by the said streamer. This behaviour is not the true reflection of our esports community. The majority of esports athletes behave responsibly and are aware of the lines that should not be crossed. We have “Zero Tolerance” towards any kind of behaviour as we saw in this case. Social media platforms must not be used to make illogical and irresponsible comments and one should refrain from commenting on anything which they are not aware of. There have been instances in the past also, but now the time has come where such influencers and streamers should be cautious of what they speak and write. Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India and it will remain so. No one is beyond the sovereignty and integrity of the country. We fully support the action taken by the relevant authorities. We all are one across the length and breadth of the nation.”
