GIGABYTE and Skyesports launch GIGABYTE Cafe League 2024: A multi-city esports tournament

GIGABYTE, a prominent global computer hardware manufacturer, has collaborated with Skyesports, a leading esports tournament organizer in India, to present the GIGABYTE Cafe League 2024. This grassroots-level esports competition is set to take place in 5 different cities across India, offering players the opportunity to compete in local gaming cafes for a portion of the Rs. 1,25,000 Prize Pool.

The GIGABYTE Cafe League 2024 will unfold in the following cities, each featuring an open-for-all Counter-Strike 2 tournament with an Rs. 25,000 Prize Pool:

Kolkata (Fusion Max Cafe): 19th Jan to 21st Jan

Mumbai (Next Level Gaming, Goregaon): 26st Jan to 28th Jan

Nasik (Next Level Gaming, Yeolekar Mala): 2nd Feb to 4th Feb 

Faridabad (The Cabal): 9th Feb to 11th Feb 

Pune (Rapid Rounds Gaming Cafe): 16th Feb to 18th Feb 

Players can currently register for the tournament and participate in the competition at the specified cafes. Additionally, each city will host a dedicated experience zone, providing players with the opportunity to use advanced GIGABYTE laptops.

Supriya Gawde Mankame, Asst. General Manager at GIGABYTE India, expressed enthusiasm about the tournament, emphasizing GIGABYTE’s role in revitalizing the gaming cafe culture in India post-COVID-19. Mankame sees the GIGABYTE Cafe League 2024 not only as an esports event but also as a celebration of the gaming community in local cafes, aligning with GIGABYTE’s commitment to “Upgrading Your Life.”

Sashank Bhandaru, Head of Global Business Partnerships at Skyesports, highlighted the significance of gaming cafes in Indian PC gaming culture. Bhandaru expressed excitement about the partnership with GIGABYTE, emphasizing the elevation of esports from grassroots levels and the showcase of GIGABYTE laptops to gamers. He also mentioned their commitment to supporting grassroots initiatives for the Counter-Strike 2 Esports ecosystem.

The GIGABYTE Cafe League in each city spans three days, featuring offline qualifiers on the first two days as local teams vie for a spot in the Finale on Day 3. The Finale will be live-streamed, showcasing the top teams in action.
