Moving forward on the government’s plan to create a safer gaming space for people, Dream11 has now launched ‘Dream Responsibly’, a platform committed to user safety, digital India and sports development.
The platform only uses digital payment systems that have been approved by RBI along with a user verification process and a grievance redressal mechanism. Other features include user fund protection, allowing users to set monetary limits and plan breaks.
Talking about the launch, Dream Sports CEO, Harsh Jain said, “Throughout our 15-year journey, we have remained committed to earning the trust of our stakeholders and working towards sports development in India. We will continue to spearhead industry-leading initiatives to further the Government’s vision of building a safe, transparent and accountable gaming ecosystem.”
Jain has previously suggested that the government should establish a SEBI-like regulator for the Self-regulatory Body (SRB) to help in further growth of the real money gaming sector while also keeping its working under check.
Dream11 have also taken several initiatives for the community including the Dream Sports Foundation that help talented young athletes get an opportunity to grow in the sports scene.
Online gaming companies were already in agreement when the government announced their plans to create a safe, trusted and accountable gaming space. Dream Responsibly has now provided a great example for others to follow and minimise online gaming harm despite the industry facing hard times.
Recently, the GST rate for online real money gaming has been changed to 28% on full face value, despite that, online gaming companies believe that the sector will still see a growth even if it is a bit slower.
