Casual gaming studio HighXP has raised $2.2 million in seed funding led by 3one4 Capital along with Prime Venture Partners and Gemba Capital. The company also saw the participation of several big names in the gaming industry, like Co-Founder COO Junglee Games, Rahul Bhardwaj and CEO of Jetsynthesys, Anuj Tandon.
According to an official release, the funds will help the company to increase their team and develop more games and will also help in improving their debut game called Doodle Me, available on Android and iOS devices.
Speaking on the successful funding round, CEO and Co-founder, Shankara Seethappa said, “We are thrilled to receive this investment, which will enable us to continue developing engaging and fun games for our players. We are grateful to have the support of esteemed investors who believe in our vision. With this funding, we look forward to expanding our team and launching new games that will captivate players around the world.”
While CPTO and Co-founder said that gaming, in general, was their passion, and the funds will help in the accelerated growth of the company. “We are excited to build on our experience and deliver fun and captivating social-casual games that resonate with players globally,” he said.
The company was founded by Seethappa and Sankar together, who have previously worked in big gaming firms like Zynga, Big Viking Games, and Microsoft and, using that experience, plans to create social games to help people connect across the world.
Casual gaming in India is also growing at a rapid pace with esports. A recent report on the gaming industry by SuperData also claimed that over one crore gamers in India play casual games annually, with around 60% using mobile devices to play these casual games.
The revenue generated by the Indian mobile gaming market is also anticipated to reach $5 billion by 2025, according to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
