Curaçao Gambling Control Board appoints Cedric Pietersz as its new managing director

The Gaming Control Board’s (GCB) Supervisory Board has announced the appointment of Mr. Cedric Pietersz as its new Managing Director. The decision comes as part of the board’s efforts to navigate the evolving landscape of the gaming industry.

As reported by Gambling Insider, he is set to officially take charge on February 1, Mr. Pietersz will take up the responsibility of supervising the ongoing licensing activities in alignment with the existing legislation. Additionally, he will play a crucial role in steering the transformation process following the enactment of the LOK.

With an impressive track record spanning two decades at the Centrale Bank van Curaçao en Sint Maarten (CBCS), where he served in various capacities, including supervision and management, Mr. Pietersz brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His extensive tenure is expected to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen anti-money laundering (AML) measures, and ensure regulatory compliance as Curacao embraces its new jurisdictional era.

Expressing his enthusiasm, Mr. Pietersz stated, “I am honored to join the Gaming Control Board at such a dynamic time. I am confident that, together with the team and the Supervisory Board, we will strategically steer the GCB into a new era while delivering value to all stakeholders, including the Minister of Finance.”

Cedric Pietersz is set to make his official debut with the Gaming Control Board and the Ministry of Finance at the upcoming ICE event, where he can be found at Booth number N9-260. His presence at this renowned gaming expo underlines the board’s commitment to staying abreast of industry developments and fostering collaborative efforts within the gaming community.
