Former CAM lawyer Sameer Chugh joins unicorn Games24x7 as legal head

Sameer Chugh who resigned as partner of law firm Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) has joined gaming unicorn Games24x7 as Chief Legal Officer. Before joining CAM in June 2021, he was Group General Counsel of Bharti Group since 2019. Between 2014-19, he was Director – Legal and Regulatory at Airtel. Games24x7 is one of three gaming unicorns in the country.

He is a 1997 graduate of Symbiosis Law School, Pune and has an MSc in Telecom Business from University College London (UCL) in 2007.

Over the course of a career spanning more than 26 years, Chugh has experience as a practising lawyer and has held positions at leading firms and organizations. Apart from Bharti Group, he has previously worked with Essar Group and Cummins India. He also worked at law firms like Singhania & Co and Kochhar & Co in his early years. He adds strong expertise in complex business transactions (M&A and financing), legal compliance, litigation and governance.

At Games24x7, Chugh will lead the company’s legal and compliance function and play an instrumental role in strengthening and accelerating its vision in a dynamic regulatory environment, reported legal news portal Bar and Bench.
