Mahadev Book: Mumbai sessions court rejects Sahil Khan’s anticipatory bail application

Bollywood actor and fitness entrepreneur Sahil Khan’s anticipatory bail application was rejected on Wednesday by a Mumbai sessions court, reported The Indian Express. Khan appeared before the court this week to request pre-arrest bail. He is among 31 others against whom, an FIR was filed at Matunga police station. The investigative agencies believe that he was promoting Lion Book, which is a subsidiary of Mahadev Book.

Khan, in his plea, claimed that he had no links with any of the mentioned betting apps nor is he involved in any illegal activity. However, the cyber police opposing the bail plea insisted that the probe involves the largest illegal betting network, consisting of over 60 betting applications and the investigation in the matter is still ongoing.

The scam is said to be worth Rs 15,000 crore. The court rejected Khan’s request and as of now, he is still under suspicion to be one of the business partners of Mahadev Book illegal betting app network and is being investigated like several other people.
