Manish Agarwal steps down from position of CEO of Nazara Technologies

The current Chief Executive Officer for Nazara Technologies, Manish Agarwal, is stepping down from the position announced by the company on October 20, 2022, to pursue his own entrepreneurial journey. Manish Agarwal will be leaving the position on 1 December 2022.

MD of the company, Nitish Mittersain, said, “I will miss our daily business discussions, casual chats and lunches together. Manish has had a significant contribution to Nazara over the last few years, and I am extremely grateful to him personally for his friendship and unflinching support to me much beyond our professional association,” while also welcoming Sudhir Kamath “I am delighted to welcome Sudhir Kamath as Nazara’s new COO. An alumnus of Delhi university & IIT.”

Mittersain said, “I will be back as Nazara’s CEO effective December 1st, 2022. It’s a role I had served for nearly 15 years earlier & now it comes with a lot more responsibility given our large shareholder base.”

In their exchange filing, Nazara Technologies said, “He will continue to be associated with the company as a Nazara nominee on the boards of material subsidiaries of Nazara. The Board placed on record its sincere appreciation for the valuable services provided by Mr. Manish Agarwal during his tenure with the Company.”

Nazara Technologies is an Indian diversified gaming and sports media company that owns many online gaming companies like WildWorks, Qunami and, OpenPlay and, NODWIN and, Sportskeeda, Halaplay as their esports news and media brands.

In its press release, the company has also reported 104% revenue growth YoY in Q2FY23.

Nazara Technologies also acquired children’s interactive entertainment company WildWorks this year in August. Wildworks have also been the number one grossing app in its category for children’s entertainment and have attracted more than 150 million players on their app.

Nodwin gaming, owned by Nazara, has organized and sponsored many big LAN eSports events and is currently working as an organizer of the DreamHack festival in Hyderabad this year to elevate gaming in India with many game tournaments and shows planned in the festival.
