Noida: Police bust makeshift casino being operated out of farmhouse

Illegal gaming activities have ruined many lives over the years, and some anti-social people have resorted to these unethical means to make quick money. One of these unethical practices is running and operating casinos illegally.

Lately, the Noida police have busted a makeshift casino illegally operated at a farmhouse located in Sector 136. According to the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Noida), Ashutosh Dwivedi, Sudhir Kumar, who serves as The Expressway thana SHO, received some vital information regarding this illegal business activity.

The police then wasted no time and conducted a raid instantly and witnessed 13 people gambling at the place who was then nabbed by the officers. The arrest has been made by the Gautam Buddh Nagar police.

The 13 people who have been arrested for gambling include several residents of upscale Noida societies. The accused have been identified as Kushal Keshwani, Mukul Pandey, Jitendra, Vipin Gautam, Sunil Kumar, Sandeep, Kiranpal, Monu, Govind Sharma, Parshuram, and Omkar.

“The Expressway thana SHO, Sudhir Kumar, received information that the illegal casino was operating in Sector 136. A raid was conducted based on this information… Thirteen people who were gambling there have been arrested,” said Additional Deputy Commissioners of Police (Noida) Ashutosh Dwivedi.

Meanwhile, a case has been filed at the Expressway Police Station under the relevant sections of the Public Gambling Act.

Earlier this month, the Bhopal Crime Branch arrested six gamblers pretending to play carrom close to Regiment Road Military Gate. Cash worth Rs 14,740 was seized from them. Even the credit cards were seized from the accused, and a case was filed against them under the Gambling Act.
