Juggernaut Productions have announced that the studio has acquired the rights to make a TV series based on India’s first female Poker player, Muskan Sethi.
Apart from being the first female Poker player from India, Muskan was also given a National Award of ‘First Ladies’ by Ram Nath Kovind, the country’s president. According to reports, the poker star has earned more than $100k across several tournaments.
Speaking on the show, Sethi claimed that she wants to encourage those who are pursuing a career route for themselves, which is in contrast to the norms idolised in the society. Muskan got an early exposure to the game of Poker, when she was 11 years old. She came to know about the game from her father, who used to watch a lot of videos.
Later, what started as a hobby turned out to be a full-fledged career for her, and she went on to compete in one of the biggest poker tournaments on one of the biggest national TV shows of the United Kingdom, where she played for an amount not less than $1mn.
Sethi said, “I believe it’s important to tell and hear each other’s stories. I hope to debunk myths around poker. It would be a dream come true if poker players attain the support and training to put India on the map. After all, this is the land of great mathematicians and inventors,“ according to a PTI release.
CEO of Juggernaut Productions, Samar Khan, said that their studio focuses on portraying the stories of strong women characters that do not follow the traditional path of living and try to do something in a rather unconventional way that is against the odds and customs of the society.
Speaking on the story of the poker star, Khan said, “For us, Muskan’s story has immense merit, and through this endeavour, we hope to break the notions about the game. It is a sport and not just a game of luck. I believe the audience is eager to watch differentiated and aspiring stories. We are happy that Muskan has joined hands with us for the same.”
Sethi has also partnered with many gaming companies. In November 2022, Sethi, along with Abhishek Goindi, joined PokerBaazi as brand ambassador of the TEAM PRO. Both of the pros proved informative content about poker in order to popularise the game.
