Cyberabad Police on Wednesday arrested Tollywood actor Naga Shaurya‘s father Shivalinga Prasad in a case relating to gambling at his farmhouse near Hyderabad outer ring road. He was produced before Upparpally court which remanded him for 14 days. Shivalinga Prasad had subsequently applied for a bail before the Upparpally court. The bail petition was not decided at the time of writing this.
On October 31, police raided a farmhouse at Manchirevula in Narsingi and arrested 30 people including former MLA Sriram Bhadraiah, Vasavi constructions director for gambling. The main organiser Gutta Suman Kumar took the farmhouse on a 1-day lease for a birthday party. The police have found that Shivalinga Prasad knew about the activities of Gutta Suman Kumar.
The case was registered under the Telangana Gaming Act. All the accused who were arrested earlier are out on bail. A Special Operations Team (SOT) of the Cyberabad police raided the farmhouse seizing over Rs 6.72 lakh in cash, three cars and other incriminating material. Police who were acting on a tipoff of illegal card games were stunned to see a mini-casino not limited to the card games. The main accused Gutta Kumar frequently organised gambling activities in different parts of the Telugu states with high profile persons as customers.
