PokerBaazi, a poker platform, and Push Sports, a sports-tech company featured on Shark Tank India Season 3, have launched the Baazi Sports Foundation Fellowship. This initiative is part of PokerBaazi’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy and aims to provide support to junior cricketers under the age of 19.
The Baazi Sports Foundation Fellowship, designed to enhance the skills of young athletes through technical training, competitive exposure, and financial aid, selects a cohort of young cricketers based on their potential and commitment to the sport, offering them training from cricket professionals. The fellowship aims to help athletes gain experience by competing in domestic and international tournaments.
Navkiran Singh, CEO and Founder of Baazi Games, expressed his enthusiasm about the initiative, stating, “Supporting young talent is at the core of PokerBaazi’s mission. Through this fellowship with Push Sports, we aim to empower young cricketers with the necessary support and guidance to reach their full potential.”
The fellowship provides financial assistance, including INR 10,000 per month for living expenses and INR 15,000 per month to cover training fees. Additionally, each participant receives cricket equipment valued between INR 25,000 and 50,000, including bats, pads, gloves, helmets, and other essential gear. This approach ensures that the young athletes have the resources they need to succeed.
Candidates for the fellowship must meet specific eligibility criteria, which comprise of being an Indian citizen under the age of 19, and having previously represented their state in cricket. The selected athletes, through the fellowship, are to receive mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals, who will elevate their gameplay and prepare them for future success.
