Tamil Nadu magician to raise awareness against online rummy using magic tricks in Coimbatore

A video from a recent press conference in Coimbatore showing a magician raising awareness against online rummy is going viral on various social media platforms. During the press conference the magician Dayanidhi invited the members of the public to a magic show which is being hosted from December 23 to 25 at RS Puram Corporation Art Gallery, Coimbatore to raise awareness against online rummy.

Several suicides have been occurring across Tamil Nadu due to online rummy and many young people are reportedly getting addicted and losing money. Dayanidhi, who hails from Cove, met with the media to discuss the magic show that will be organized to raise awareness against drugs and online rummy while he performed a magic show there. He shared the risks associated with online rummy through this show.

“I am going to create awareness in the event to be held through entertainment. And in online rummy you play with a pre-made program. When I do magic, I can do digital tricks where the eyes can’t see when I’m showing them in an instant before my eyes,” said Dayanidhi at the press conference.

“I conduct magic shows using digital tricks to create awareness like this. Don’t believe how much money you get in online rummy can lead to suicide. I gave magic training to Vijay in Mersal. Magic Man Dayanidhi has said that he has done the same in Bhairava,” he added.

Several Tamil Nadu politicians across parties have also claimed that online rummy is a major cause of suicides in the state. PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss has been a prominent and vocal opponent of it. An ordinance was passed banning online games in October which has since lapsed. It is yet to be approved by the Governor.
