Anuj Tandon to leave Krafton India amidst BGMI ban

Published on:

Due to the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) ban, Anuj Tandon will leave his position as Krafton India Head of Investment and Corp Dev. The popular Battle Royale game Battlegrounds Mobile India, also known as BGMI, was removed from all platforms by the Indian government more than four months ago.

The gaming community appeared displeased with the latest developments that have transpired, therefore as of right now, there is no indication that it might make a comeback. Anuj Tandon announced his departure from Krafton India amidst the Battlegrounds Mobile India Ban.

He broke the news on his official Twitter handle as he tweeted:

“Next week would be my last in KRAFTON India as Head of Corp Dev & investments (India & MENA) – Its has been a privilege that in a stint of 1.9 years I had the opportunity to build an ecosystem in India for Gaming+ (M&E+Tech) & hopefully created an impact. A short gratitude. From building a strategy for KRAFTON in India and MENA and closing deals, building a portfolio of investment worth INR 1100 Crore+ ( ~ $135M) most of it in India – with a very lean team where we have led most deals it has been like running sprints in a marathon.”

As was already mentioned, GOI testified to their meetings with the Krafton representative. It cannot be disclosed, though, as Rule 16 of the Information Technology Rules 2019 upholds strict secrecy in certain situations. While the date is yet unknown, the gaming industry believes the game will return eventually. Let’s wait and see what occurs over the next few days.

This concludes the discussion of the most recent BGMI ban in India developments. But as things stand, the title won’t be back until December 2022. Therefore, gamers must wait at least a few months before learning anything.
