Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II reveals Atomgrad Raid

Published on:

The first ever Special Ops Raid for Modern Warfare II, which is slated to be released on December 14 as a free upgrade to the main MW II game, was first shown off during the Game Awards 2022.

It will be intriguing to see how Call of Duty (COD): Modern Warfare 2’s development team handles raids. It is not surprising to see them included in one of the biggest franchises in the business because they have grown in popularity in co-op games over the past year.

The DMZ was the most recent content that COD added to new PvE experiences. The multiplayer in the main game also has a number of “Special Ops” cooperative missions enabling two players to engage in narrative-based combat against AI.

With the addition of a new upcoming raid, players are expected to have a whole new experience in the game. The trailer shows three iconic characters from the COD franchise, Captain Price, Farah and Gaz, in the raid.

The trailer for the raid announcement is quite short, and more details are expected to be released soon. Even with a short trailer, the video gives a general idea about the environment and the number of players participating in raids.

Raids in other popular games like World of Warcraft (WoW) and Destiny 2 usually take more than an hour or two to complete, even with a decent team. WoW can have 40 people in a raid and Destiny 2 requires a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 people to do a raid.

While the COD trailer shows three people in a raid, it is unlikely that limit will be increased. This is due to longer PvE activities consisting of a maximum three-player limit.

The raid will be included in Modern Warfare II, not Warzone. Therefore, it is likely that the raid won’t be free. And while DMZ has its flaws, it has unquestionably demonstrated that the Call of Duty concept has some serious PvE potential.
