The pre-registrations for the upcoming battle royale game, the Call of Duty (COD) Warzone Mobile, have already started and now there are videos of beta testing floating across the internet.
The 19-minute video shows the full match of the upcoming mobile battle royale game. The game is played on the iconic Verdansk map from the original COD Warzone on PC and consoles with many well-known locations like Train station, Dam, Park, Hospital, and others.
The gameplay is similar to BGMI with the player on an airplane ready to drop in. The controls are also quite similar and fully customizable according to player preference. The Warzone Mobile shines as it gives the feel of a real PC game with animations, guns, vehicles and loadout drops.
In terms of graphics, the Warzone Mobile port seems to have softer graphics than the console/PC version. But since the game won’t be released until the following year, Activision will have more time to polish it.
The game is said to have a massive 120-person lobby in battle royale mode but will also contain other fan favorite modes like Team Deathmatch and Domination. The game is currently in beta phase so the developers still have a lot of time to improve the gameplay and fix bugs.
Activision have also mentioned that all the games like Warzone Mobile, Warzone 2.0, and Modern Warfare II players will have similar social features and will also have cross-progression. Cross progression will allow players to progress in any of the COD titles and sync it with others.
For example, players can level up their battle pass while away from PC on Warzone Mobile and then unlock everything on Warzone 2.0 or Modern Warfare II. This will also apply to gun attachments and loadouts.
Activision said, “Leveraging new unified technology across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 and Call of Duty Warzone Mobile, players can share many social features (like friends and chat channels) and cross-progression enabling a shared Battle Pas and more for a connected Call of Duty experience.”
According to Apple App Store, COD Warzone Mobile is set to release on May 15, 2023.
