JioGames and JioTrue5G announce eSports events at IMC 2022 along with 5G service rollout

Jio has announced that they will be showcasing their 5G network and cloud gaming during the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2022 event and have partnered with various content creators as part of their JioGames service.

IMC, one of the largest digital tech forums in Asia, will run from 1st to 4th  October 2022. IMC is organized by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) with help of Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI). The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event is being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Here’s a list of some creators and the games they’re representing:

  1. Pravin “7N PANTHER” Kumar Kushawaha (Valorant, GTA V)
  2. Naman “7N DEADSHOT” Singh (BGMI, GTA V)
  3. Uday “7N UDAY” Jain (Valorant, GTA V)
  4. Devendra “DEV GAMING” Mourya (BGMI, Apex Legends, CODM, Valorant)
  5. Abdul “Hitman” Haseeb (Valorant, GTA V)
  6. Raunak “Guru” Raj (Valorant, Fifa, PES, AmongUS)
  7. Sagarika “Wasabi Panda” Mukerji (Valorant, Rocket League, Fall Guys)
  8. Subhadeep “Dashboard” Dash (Valorant, CODM, Apex Legends Mobile)

The opportunity for players to experience cloud gaming on a 5G network while also competing in a local LAN tournament for the prize money is expected to elevate the hopes of the online gaming community in the country. Jio also aims to highlight their high-speed network for streaming content online with almost no buffer and delays.

JioGames have planned LAN tournaments for various games throughout the course of the IMC event and claimed to feature different games on cloud such as Valorant, Apex Legends, CODM, Fifa, Street Fighter V and COD Warzone.

The term “Future of Gaming” is being highlighted at the event with games enthusiasts and players at large having really high expectations from the 5G network in connectivity and accessibility for online gaming.
