Tata join hands with Gamezop to add games to their OTT, DTH services

Published on:

Tata recently announced their partnership with Gamezop website to add games for the users of their Direct to home (DTH) along with their Over the top (OTT) services. The services of the tata play binge app currently provide subscription plans for 17 OTT apps between the price of INR 59 – INR 299 per month. Some of the apps include Sony Liv, Disney+ Hotstar and Zee5.

Gamezop is a casual, light-hearted gaming website with various games that everyone can quickly enjoy. These are mostly web-based flash games that provide mild casual entertainment for those with little spare time or who want to distract themselves. With the partnership with tata, all the games available on the gamezop website will be directly available with the tata play binge app to play anytime.

The increased user base of online gaming is spreading like wildfire, with everyone playing different online games, whether casual, relaxing, or competitive. Tatas’ move towards adding games to their service was followed after Vodafone Idea announced a partnership with gaming firm Nazara Technologies on March 14.

According to reports from Data.ai, erstwhile App Annie, India is among the top download apps, and almost 75% of the top 10 of those revenue-generating apps were games, which shows the potential rise of the online gaming sector in India in the upcoming years. Another report from the OTT industry by Media Partners Asia suggested the domestic video streaming market may increase by about 7 billion USD in the next 5 years.

Watching all these reports may have led these various big businesses to turn their focus toward video games as a means to retain and engage their customers in their services in the long run.
