The showcase will include Hindi subtitles, ensuring accessibility for a broader Indian audience.

Fans and curious gamers can watch the Detective Dotson gameplay trailer reveal on various platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and Twitter

The Future Games Show Summer Showcase will take place on June 9 from 12:30 AM IST, marking a moment for Masala Games and the Indian gaming community.

Detective Dotson involves players in a stylized version of modern-day India, where they take on the role of Dotson, a detective solving mysteries and crimes. Inspired by Bollywood mystery films and Indian TV shows like CID, the game combines traditional storytelling with interactive gameplay elements. The demo, which is currently available, offers players a glimpse into Dotson’s investigative journey, including chasing criminals, hunting for clues, creating disguises, and recruiting team members.

Founded by BAFTA-winning game developer Shalin Shodhan, who has previously worked with Electronic Arts and Pixar, Masala Games is dedicated to delivering gaming experiences. Detective Dotson, developed using Unity and featuring an original soundtrack by Nikhil Rao from Indian Ocean, aims to be accessible to a wide range of PCs with its relatively low system requirements.

Shalin Shodhan, Founder and CEO of Masala Games, describes Detective Dotson as a “love letter to modern-day India.” The game is set to release later this year, and interested players can wishlist it on the Steam store.

Masala Games will also showcase Detective Dotson at the Courage XL pre-GDC event and the GDC Expo, providing attendees with the opportunity to experience the game first hand and stand a chance to win a Nintendo Switch.
