Dream11 CEO Harsh Jain greets Superstar Rajinikanth with special jersey

Published on:

Founder and CEO of fantasy gaming platform Dream11, Harsh Jain, met superstar Rajinikanth in a recent event. The meet was arranged to celebrate the company’s recent achievement of reaching 200 million registered users.

Jain also took to social media and shared the details of the meet. “As a Rajini fan (Thalaivar!) I couldn’t miss my chance (Thalaivar!) to celebrate Dream11 hitting 200 Million users and get inspired by Rajinikanth’s 200 BILLION fans! Thank you, Sir, for giving me the honour of meeting you,” Jain said in his X post.

Jain can also be seen presenting a jersey of the Indian cricket team to Rajinikanth with the words ‘THALA’ on the back. ‘Thala’ or ‘Thalaivar’ is a name that Rajini got from his die-heard fans. It essentially means leader or superstar.

Rajinikanth is generally called Thalaivar which corresponds with his upcoming film with the working title of ‘Thalaivar 170’. The title here donates the number of film he is currently shooting for. Popular Indian cricketer MS Dhoni is also called Thala by fans as he plays for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.

Speaking of Dream11, the feat of achieving 200 million registered users is also worth mentioning. This is because it comes at a time when RMG firms are facing problems from all directions. These include the increased GST rate, and DGGI’s tax-evasion notices.

Dream11 was also handed a GST notice for Rs 28,000 crore. Despite that, they decided to provide players with full compensation of new GST charges from out of company pocket.

Dream11 is also the official jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team now after acquiring the sponsorship rights for Rs 358 crore from BCCI back in June. While the initial reaction of people was not that favourable, they eventually warmed up to the new jersey’s design.
