Dream11 releases several advertisements featuring cricketers and actors for IPL 2023

Published on:

Fantasy sports platform Dream11 has released a number of advertisements for IPL 2023 which were shown frequently during the live telecast of the first match yesterday. Some of them feature India and Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya, Bollywood actors Aamir Khan and R Madhavan as well as Punjab Kings player Rahul Chahar.

In one of the two advertisements featuring Rohit Sharma and Aamir Khan, both can be seen playing a cricket match, with Aamir bowling to Rohit and taunting about uprooting his middle stump. Rohit responds by hitting the ball straight, going past close to Aamir’s head. Having survived being hit by the ball, Aamir chants the famous dialogue ‘All is well’ from his movie 3 Idiots.

In another advertisement, Aamir claims he would win the Man of the Match award, to which Rohit responds by saying that it would be a waste of time for him as the actor doesn’t go to events to receive awards. This advertisement features Rahul Chahar as well and Rohit and him are seen laughing after the latter’s response.

Speaking of 3 Idiots, Dream11 recently released an advertisement in the lead up to the IPL season featuring all the lead actors from the movie and Dream11 ambassadors taunting each other. The actors comment that acting in advertisements does not make them actors, to which the cricketers reply that playing cricket in Lagaan (movie) doesn’t make anyone a cricketer.

Later, Aamir goes on to challenge the cricketers to a cricket match, which the latter gladly accept. The advertisement ends with the ‘Sab Khelenge’ slogan.

Meanwhile, Dream Sports, the parent company of Dream11, released a standalone UPI payment app called DreamX for the users of Dream11 earlier this week. The app can be used as a medium for users to spend their winnings or use it like any other UPI apps for miscellaneous payments which will allow it to compete with other major players such as Google Pay, Paytm and PhonePe.

Incidentally, many other startup fantasy sports platforms have been launched with the IPL season in mind. Some of them include India and CSK cricketer-owned Deepak Chahar’s TFG which involves digital collectibles and CrickPe by Ashneer Grover’s Third Unicorn which will give rewards not only to users but also the cricketers who participate in a match.
