Games24x7, a prominent online skill-gaming platform, in collaboration with the Government of Karnataka, unveiled 15 shortlisted start-ups for its innovative GameTech Accelerate programme at the annual Gaming, Animation, and VFX (GAFX) 2024 event in Bengaluru. This marks a significant step towards promoting innovation and growth in India’s dynamic online gaming industry.
Launched in December 2023, ‘GameTech Accelerate – The Future of Gaming’ is a pioneering accelerator programme designed to nurture and boost promising ventures offering innovative solutions for the rapidly evolving online gaming sector. The selection process, which received over 200 applications, resulted in the shortlisting of 15 emerging startups across four key focus areas: New Games (Real Money, Casual, Hyper Casual, Educational, Simulation, Strategy, and MMO); Real-Time Analytics, Telemetry & Personalization; Security and Anti-Cheating Measures; and Community and Social Integration.
The chosen start-ups, including Brahman Studios, CBIT Original Gaming App, Credexon, Felicity, Geniuscrate Games, Mantis Pro Gaming, My Tournament, NoobStorm, Pixcell Play, Play CKT, PlayDa, Pro Shooter VR, Score Kount, Tolee, and Wega Labs, will undergo a series of mentoring sessions conducted by experts from Games24x7, AWS, and Lumikai. This programme covers crucial topics such as technological advancements, business continuity strategies, financial stability frameworks, market penetration strategies, and more.
The GameTech Accelerate programme is set to culminate with an exclusive pitch session for investors scheduled for March. During this session, the start-ups will have the opportunity to showcase their learnings and innovations to potential investors, marking an important step towards securing future support and growth.
The announcement of the shortlist took place in the presence of dignitaries, including Priyank Kharge, Minister for RDPR & ITBT, Darshan H.V, Director of Electronics, ITBT & Managing Director, KITS, and Dr. Ekroop Caur, Secretary, Department of ITBT & ST, through a video presentation.
