Hitwicket, a cricket gaming startup, has announced its collaboration with the Indian School of Business (ISB) for the GameX Accelerator program. This partnership aims to encourage innovation, nurture talent, and equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and knowledge to thrive in the gaming landscape.

As reported by Business News This Week, the GameX Accelerator program, created by ISB, seeks to capitalize on the growing esports industry and redefine career opportunities in India. Traditionally, business schools have focused on established sectors such as consultancy and finance. However, this initiative reflects a shift towards enhancing the potential of the online gaming industry in line with the Digital India vision.

Recent interactions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the country’s top gamers have highlighted the government’s commitment to positioning India as a leading global gaming hub. With the online gaming industry in India witnessing growth, projections indicate further expansion to reach Rs 33,243 crore by FY28, driven by a sustained 15% CAGR.

Earlier this year, the endorsement of Hitwicket by veteran cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle as a strategic investor validated the potential of esports in the country. Bhogle, known for his over 40 years of experience in cricket commentary and as an MBA graduate, recognized the opportunities within the gaming industry.

The co-founders of Hitwicket, Keerti Singh and Kashyap Reddy, expressed their enthusiasm about the partnership with ISB. They highlighted ISB’s efforts in supporting the gaming sector, acknowledging its potential to encourage innovation and growth.

Saumya Kumar, Director at I-Venture, ISB, expressed delight in having Hitwicket as a partner for the GameX Accelerator Program. Kumar highlighted Hitwicket’s understanding of the Indian gaming market, positioning them as an ally in nurturing the next generation of esports entrepreneurs.

The GameX Accelerator program, spanning three months, serves as a platform for aspiring gaming and esports entrepreneurs. It offers specialized business and technological resources, mentorship from professionals, fundraising guidance, and access to the gaming community.
