Maniya police crackdown on illegal gambling den, arrest six suspects in a raid

In a move against illegal gambling activities, the Maniya police of Rajakheda conducted an operation, resulting in the arrest of six individuals during a raid on a gambling den last Friday. Acting on actionable intelligence provided by an informant, the District Superintendent of Police, Brijesh Jyoti Upadhyay, and Additional SP Manoj Sharma directed the Maniya police station to take decisive action.

As reported by Dainik Bhaskar, the operation unfolded near the Mishriyapura turn, where the accused were caught red-handed engaging in illegal gambling activities. Among those apprehended were Pope Singh, a resident of Janaki Nagar, Agra Uttar Pradesh, and Rajesh Kumar, also known as Pillu, from Tanda police station Maniya.

The raiding team, comprising vigilant officers, successfully arrested Khuniya, Ramesh, Chhotu, and Om Prakash, all residents of various localities within Maniya, while they were actively participating in the illegal gambling activities. In addition to the arrests, the police seized a substantial amount of Rs.21,070 in cash, believed to be proceeds from the illegal gambling operations, along with various gambling equipment from the possession of the accused.

The arrested individuals now face charges under the Gambling Act, with ongoing investigations aiming to unravel any further involvement in illicit gambling networks.

This swift and decisive action by the Maniya police underscores their firm commitment to maintaining law and order in the region, sending a message of zero tolerance towards illegal gambling activities. Such proactive measures serve to safeguard the community and uphold the integrity of the law.
