A scrap dealer, who is connected with the Mahadev Book betting app and is a key member of it, has returned from Dubai to Raipur recently according to the police. He is said to be responsible for providing bookies with Mahadev Book app IDs which are then used to take bets. The police are currently on the lookout for this individual as it is being predicted that betting activities would start booming with his arrival.

Chhattisgarh police have arrested several individuals in the past few months for taking bets on IPL matches through the Mahadev Book app. The betting network is estimated to be generating crores of revenue and is mainly being run from Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, Bilaspur, Tilda-Nevra, Mahasamund, Bhatapara, Dhamtari, Ambikapur, Raigarh, Jagladpur, Rajnandgaon and Kabirdham, as reported by Naidunia.

Apart from Mahadev Book, another platform that has become popular is Arun Sakti. Police have received information that several wanted bookies, operating their network with these two IDs, are in the state.

The bookies have grown their network and increased their activities this year with more people placing bets, especially due to the IPL. According to the police the scrap dealer is a resident of Maudhapara area in the city and recently went to Dubai where he presumably received funding to further expand the operations in India.

Apparently, the betting network is so large that it has even infiltrated the police department. Most recently, Durg police suspended a constable who used to operate a network of Mahadev Book betting ring. Police are now investigating the matter and looking for further information to nab other culprits.
