Published on:

Reports have revealed that casino organiser Chikoti Praveen will officially be joining Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Earlier, there were only speculations of him joining the party. However, now his joining ceremony is likely to happen on Tuesday, September 12 in Hyderabad, Telangana.

On the occasion of him joining the party, Praveen has requested all the party members to join the rally. Notably, the rally will begin from Hanuman Temple at Karmanghat to BJP’s Telangana Office at Nampally, Hyderabad.

As per Siasat, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy will also be present in his joining ceremony. Speculations of Praveen joining BJP started back in August. He started visiting numerous BJP leaders, including party’s former state president Bandi Sanjay. Upon his visit, the politicians claimed that they were shocked to see him and refused to reveal further details.

Chikoti Praveen surrounded by controversies

Praveen, however, is also surrounded by controversies. In a recent case, he was charged for absconding after he and his bodyguards were caught possessing unauthorized firearms.

Back in July, the police booked Chikoti Praveen for taking out a rally without prior permission. Prior to that, Praveen was arrested in Thailand during his visit to an underground casino. Many speculated that Praveen organized the underground casino event. This was because he is infamous for hosting such events.

However, a local court later released him after charging a fine of Rs 10,000 and deported him back to India. After landing in India, the Enforcement Directorate handed Praveen with a summon notice. ED further questioned Praveen over possible money laundering links due to his lifestyle.

Chikoti Praveen owns a vehicle which costs over Rs 3 crore, which raised eyebrows of people. In his defence, he said that he does not own the car. He claimed that the owner of the car is his friend, and is letting him use it for the time being.
