Spartan Poker announces 14th edition of India Online Poker Championship

Spartan Poker has announced the 14th edition of India Online Poker Championship (IOPC) with a prize pool of Rs 43 crore, surpassing all previous editions of IOPC.

Spartan Poker, BlitzPoker, PokerHigh, PokerDaddy, and Myteam11 will host this IOPC edition and it will take place from January 19, 2023 to February 5, 2023. The 18-day poker event is said to have 142 tournaments with the prize pool also consisting of a Golden Crown made of 18-carat gold and 0.6-carat diamonds.

“We are ecstatic for the launch of our 14th edition of IOPC with the highest guarantee ever and witness millions of skilled individuals putting forth their A-game, win amazing prizes this year and have a boisterous time overall. The trust and confidence of poker-buffs over IOPC has been a driving force for online poker games in this country, and I expect it to grow further as well,” said Amin Rozani, CEO of Spartan Poker, as quoted by Animation Xpress.

The first edition of IOPC featured a prize pool of Rs 6.5 lakh and it now stands at Rs 43 crore, showing the popularity of poker and online gaming in India.

The company has also partnered with other entities for other projects like the second edition of Poker for People (PFP) which featured a prize pool of Rs 1 crore. Meanwhile, the previous IOPC had a prize pool of Rs 33 crore.

With more than 2.5 million players registered on its gaming platform Spartan Poker is one of the major players in the online gaming space. The company claims to have the best security measures to safeguard players from any fraud online. With a user base of that size having the best security measures is paramount.
