Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile India release not on cards in near future

Published on:

Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile is yet to receive the green light for its India release and is only likely to get a limited one in the European and South American regions, according to co-studio head of mobile division, Chris Plummer. The game first launched in Australia and is now being introduced in other markets.

Plummer explained in a video that the reason for these limited release is to get proper feedback and work on bug fixes and optimization to support various devices.

“We’re going to be looking for places in other parts of the world probably, but they will never be the biggest countries because we want to save that scale until we feel like everything is working and validated the way we want it to be live, and we’re ready to hit that go button globally,” Plummer said.

The statement provides a hint about the reason why the game will not be released in India soon being one of the biggest gaming markets. The developers will have to contend with a large amount of feedback from a single region.

Talking about the upcoming improvements for the limited release, Plummer said, “We’ve been improving stability a lot there’s still work to do there for sure we’ve been able to put a lot of effort into gameplay improvements and a lot of that’s based on your (Limited-Region players) feedback.”

Warzone Mobile is taking a very different approach in the mobile gaming genre, using cross progression with Call of Duty: Warzone 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on PC. With cross progression, players will be able to unlock items just by playing any one of the games.

Plummer warned not to believe any rumours regarding the official global release date, as currently there are no plans for it and the date will only be made public by the developers of the game.
