Fake YouTube channel misleads fans about BGMI return

Published on:

After the ban on Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) this year in July fans have been anxious about any updates regarding the unban of the game. A new rumor has been flying around recently about BGMI coming back soon.

Fans are claiming that a YouTube channel called ‘Krafton Player Support’ is the official channel from Krafton and has been uploading new videos which could be a hint of BGMI returning.

These videos have been put into an unlisted category and are not accessible to the people normally. To access the unlisted videos, players have to go to the support section of PUBG Mobile added during the halloween event on the official Krafton website.

There is also a fake channel going around by the same name claiming BGMI 2.0 is coming soon. The channel has the same name as original Krafton Player Support but is uploading fake teasers of BGMI 2.0 that are accessible to the public.

The fake channel has uploaded the official launch party video of BGMI and claimed that it is for BGMI 2.0. If one checks the date of account creation it can be seen that the channel was made back in 2021 and is simply a fake one as BGMI was banned this year.

Popular BGMI players Soumraj and AKop have recently said that the game will make a comeback in India once again which might be one of the reasons these types of rumors have gained more traction.

BGMI was banned by the government under Section 69A of the IT Act 2000, which addresses the provision of “access to or secure access to the computer resource generating, transmitting, receiving or storing such information”.

Before Krafton launches BGMI again they will have to resolve the current issues surrounding it. Once all the issues are resolved Krafton will in all likelihood be the first one to announce the return of BGMI.

In the meantime, players are advised to not believe any kind of rumors as these videos and fake channels are just there to get views from unsuspecting gaming fans.
