Tencent announced in September that a total of 48 teams from different regions would compete in the PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC 2022) league stages. Two invitational spots were left out of 48 for the mystery teams, and today, the official PUBGM esports twitter announced the names of the last two teams joining. Vampire Esports and Team Falcons will be the two teams taking the invitational spots.
When PUBG Mobile was banned in India, an alternative version was launched for Indian players called Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), but soon after, the ban hammer followed it too. Due to the ban, Indian PUBGM teams have been unable to compete in regional tournaments.
Despite the ban on PUBG mobile and BGMI, fans are hopeful that an Indian BGMI team will also get a chance to compete in the final tournament and hope that the last slot will be made available for the best team from India.
The finals for PMGC 2022 will be held in Indonesia and will have a prize pool of 4,000,000 USD spread among the top teams. The first edition did not have any Indian teams as, during that time, PUBGM was banned in India, but the second edition of PMGC had Team GodLike representing India in the finals.
