South Korean game developer Krafton has launched its new game in the Indian market called Defense Derby. The game, which is a full release, came out as an early access title back in April for players to try out and give feedback.

Defense Derby comes as an entry in another genre by Krafton, which is famous for the popular Battle Royale title Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). The new game is described as a PVP or PVE tower defense game.

Defense Derby has several mode 4-player PvP Derby Mode where 4 players compete to be the last one standing. Other modes include Blitz Mode Tower Defense, Dungeons Tower Defense, Defending the Castle in Idle Mode, Friendly matches and even a leaderboard system.

Prior to Defense Derby, the company had released another game called Road to Valor Empires, which is a real-time strategy game with other players online. The company has already expressed its interest of delving into other genre of games.

“As we continue our journey and strengthen our commitment in India, we look forward to independently developing games for our Indian community as well as collaborating with our talented studios to bring more such exceptional experiences to our enthusiastic fans in the country,” said Sean Hyunil Sohn, CEO of Krafton India division, as quoted by Moneycontrol.

The company has already invested over $130 million across several Indian gaming startups focusing on gaming and esports with plans to further expand and fully integrate in the rapidly growing gaming sector of India.

Some of the gaming firms that Krafton has invested in are Nodwin Gaming, Nautilus Mobile and Loco. Krafton’s most popular game, BGMI, was also recently unbanned in India. Although there were some changes in the game, the core gameplay remains the same which lovers of the game relished.
