Krafton, the creator behind the battle royale game Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), has announced its selection of two startups for the inaugural cohort of its India-centric incubator, Krafton India Gaming Incubator (KIGI). This move aims to support game development within the nation. Krafton’s decision to select two startups for its India-specific incubator, Krafton India Gaming Incubator (KIGI), follows the recent launch of the game development incubator in India.
As reported by Money Control, the chosen startups, ReDimension Games from Nagaland and Shura Games from Bengaluru, were selected from over two hundred applications nationwide.
ReDimension Games is currently developing an action-adventure game titled “Sojourn Past,” set in Kohima, the capital of Nagaland. The game is planned for release on PC and consoles later this year, led by CEO Pekrukhrietuo Pienyu.
On the other hand, Shura Games is developing “Spice Secrets,” a mobile gaming adventure that integrates culinary delights with puzzle challenges. CEO Shubham Bengale leads this venture from Bengaluru.
Over the coming 6 to 12 months, these game developers will receive mentorship from industry professionals in game development, design, marketing, and business strategy. They will also receive financial support ranging from $50,000 to $150,000, along with access to Krafton’s internal resources, including data analytics and market research.
