Loco to live telecast FIFAe World Cup, Nations Cup in India

Indian game streaming platform Loco has announced a broadcast agreement with FIFA to live telecast FIFAe World Cup 2022, FIFAe Club World Cup 2022, and FIFAe Nations Cup 2022 to India. It must be noted that eSports will have 24 medals in the upcoming Asian Games 2022.

Loco has become the first and only streaming platform in India to team up with FIFAe. The streams for the three tournaments will be broadcasted exclusively in Hindi on the platform between July 14 and 30. The first tournament – FIFAe World Cup 2022 commenced on June 14 and will end with finals on June 17.

India created history by qualifying for the first time in a FIFA esports tournament on June 11, 2022. The team named eTigers finished third in the PlayOffs campaign in the Asia and Oceania region. The team comprises of Charanjot Singh, Siddh Chandarana, and Saransh Jain.

Loco has said that it will host multiple watch parties along with India’s top game streamers “to further accelerate awareness in the Indian gaming and with fans beyond the existing FIFAe community.”

Loco has broken viewership records with many popular game titles with innovative categories finding a suitable home on the platform, we are confident that we will provide fans an unforgettable experience with FIFAe,” Loco founders were quoted as saying in media reports.

The 32 gamers are split into four groups of eight for the World Cup 2022. The group stages follows the same point system of any normal international tournament. Three points for a win and one point for the draw.

The top four in each group will progress into the next round, the knockout stages which starts with the Round of 16. All the knockout matches are played over two legs. The tournament can also be streamed on the FIFAe Twitch, TikTok and Facebook accounts.
