Publicis Play teams up with Hero MotoCorp for on-ground gaming livestream event

In a collaboration, Hero MotoCorp,  manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has joined forces with Publicis Play, the gaming arm of Publicis Groupe in India, to unveil India’s on-ground gaming livestream event. Hosted at the Hero World 2024, the event showcased the recently launched Hero Xtreme 125R amidst a backdrop of gaming action.

As reported by storyboard 18, the gaming event, spanning over three hours, was broadcast live from Hero’s Centre for Innovation & Technology in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Rooted in the heart of the event was the Xtreme Zone, curated by Rooter, which served as the nucleus of live gaming competition at the Hero World 2024.

Gaming influencers such as Mortal, GamerFleet, LolzZz, and Dobby took center stage at the Xtreme Zone, challenging gamers to achieve 125 finishes in 125 minutes while immersed in BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India). 

The livestream, simultaneously broadcasted across Rooter, YouTube, and Glance, garnered viewership exceeding 60,000. Notably, the event secured a position among the top 50 trending videos in the gaming category on YouTube, underscoring its widespread appeal.

Ranjivjit Singh, Chief Business Officer of Hero MotoCorp’s India Business Unit, emphasized the significance of connecting with India’s gaming subculture. He said, “In India, Esports is an emerging subculture with the GenZ audience, shaping a new realm of competition and camaraderie. By aligning with gaming for the launch of Hero Xtreme 125R, we aim to foster deeper connections with our audience.”

Jai Lala, CEO of Zenith India, lauded the partnership between Hero MotoCorp and Publicis Play, highlighting its approach to marketing. He stated, “The collaboration underscores the potent fusion of motorcycles and gaming, transcending conventional marketing norms to elevate engagement to unprecedented levels.”

Hari Krishnan, Managing Director and Head of Publicis Content, emphasized the potential of gaming as a cultural phenomenon. He expressed interest in pioneering this fusion of gaming and product launch.

The Hero MotoCorp and Publicis Play collaboration at Hero World 2024 represents a convergence of gaming and marketing, ensuring immersive brand experiences in India’s dynamic gaming landscape.
