3. Outlast Series

One of the OG survival horror games in the market, Outlast games are known for their eerie story and survival horror gameplay that put players in some of the most intense situations with no weapons to defend themselves.

The original game puts you in the shoes of a journalist investigating an asylum. Unfortunately, the asylum is filled with disfigured people, corpses, and lunatic doctors performing experiments on them. To survive, all you can do is run or hide – under beds, inside lockers et al.

The second game in the series is also along the same lines but gets even darker halfway through. While many of the genre lovers might have already played the games, we do not want to spoil too much of anything for those who haven’t.
