Chhattisgarh: 5 arrested in Mahadev, Lotus365 illegal betting probe

Published on:

In a recent development of Durg’s betting probe, the city police has struck another breakthrough as five residents of Durg were arrested recently for running illegal betting scandal using Mahadev Book App. There have been countless cases of arrests in illegal betting carried using Mahadev app, however, the app operators and owners are fearing none and seem to be shamelessly carrying out betting operations.

Under the betting scandal busted by the Durg Police, 13 smartphones, several ATM cards, cheque books, and bank passbooks among other important documents were brought under their seizure. It is understood that a few contact details have also been acknowledged during the raid.

As reported by Zee News Hindi, Mahadev app owner and mastermind betting operator Saurabh Chandrakar, who is currently residing in Dubai, is under the constant radar of the police as well as Enforcement Directorate for more than a year now. Chandrakar trains people in Dubai, and sends them back to India to carry out illegal betting operations.

Lotus365 also used for illegal betting activities

This time, Lotus365, another betting and illegal banned betting platform, was also found to be involved in carrying out betting operations, and further investigation is being carried out by the police.

Before this, there were numerous cases of arrest and seizure under Mahadev Book app betting in states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, West Bengal, and central capital Delhi. In almost all the cases, illegal operators took fake documents in the name of opening bank accounts, and operated bets in the name of innocent people who had less to zero knowledge of the same.

While one cannot easily identify fraudulent and mischievous use of their documents, people should not fall under the trap of opening bank accounts offering unbelievable interest rates, as banking interest rates are strictly regulations of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which users can get to know about visiting official portals and their bank branches.
