On Friday, March 17, Durg police has taken another major leap against Mahadev Book online betting app as three more convicts have been caught for operating the illegal online betting app.

According to Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Pallav, SP Sanjay Dhruv and City SP Nikhil Radhecha were keeping an eye on the said area after a report was registered by Prashant Kumar.

Prashant Kumar met Vikas Kumar, who was also working as a salesman, in the same field. Soon after they came to know things about each other, Vikas told Prashant that he was in need of money, as his own money was stuck somewhere.

Vikas was then provided with a cheque by Prashant, but after a few days, Vikas said that the cheque did not work and the bank requires the owner’s documents. On repeated insistence, Prashant provided Aadhaar Card, PAN card, photograph, signature on a blank paper to Vikas.

After a few days, Vikas along with his goons, fraudulently transferred all the money from Prashant’s account to Mahadev App. As soon as these transactions came to the knowledge of Prashant, he filed a report in the nearby police station.

Following the leads from the report, the police raided the address of the accused and caught three people operating the Mahadev book. The three arrested individuals were identified as Navinder Singh alias Lucky, Rajbir Singh alias Chintu, and Rajat Sahni alias Hadiya.

After interrogation, police discovered that these people used to cheat people using cheque and then transact the amount to Mahadev app. During seizure, police got their hands on ATM cards, mobile phones, and cheque-books from multiple banks.

The police believe that Vikas Kumar and few others are still on the run, however, Navinder was found to be in contact with Ravi Uppal, one of the masterminds in the Mahadev Book racket.

The phone seized from Navinder contained several chats and calls on WhatsApp to Ravi in Dubai. The police also received CCTV footage of what is believed to be their base of operations for Mahadev Book in Dubai.

Navinder further revealed that he recruited youngsters, and sent them to Dubai for training. He later mentioned that his brother is also in Dubai, handling the app’s operations.
