Police in Chhattisgarh have taken action against another group of individuals involved in illegal betting operations using Mahadev Book and Reddy Anna. Durg police have arrested four individuals from Bhilai industrial area for taking bets using the banned app.

After multiple complaints, the police raided the area and arrested all four while they were taking bets. They seized a laptop, 10 mobile phones, three chequebooks, two passbooks and three ATM cards as per a report by Haribhoomi.

The arrested individuals are identified as Saurabh Singh, Lalit Singh, Shubham Singh and Paras Kumar. Speaking to the individuals before the media, Superintendent of Police, Abhishek Pallav revealed that most of them were graduates and the equipment used was personal.

Furthermore, two of them were brothers, operating together for over a month. Concluding the press conference, SP Pallav warned all four not to engage in such illegal activities after they are released.

Chhattisgarh has come to be seen as the hotspot for Mahadev Book operations with multiple cases being reported every month. With the IPL going on, the number of cases have shot up.

Betting through Mahadev Book is being conducted countrywide and the investigations have revealed that the gambling network is worth thousands of crores. The mastermind, Saurabh Chandrakar, reportedly resides in Dubai and operates from there.

Many key personnel of the banned betting app are trained in Dubai and sent back to India to grow the network. Most recently, the police were on a lookout for a key member who returned from Dubai to Raipur with the same objective.

The Mahadev Book website was recently banned by the Ministry of Electronics and Information and Technology (MeitY). However, it seems that it is using mirror domains to continue operations in the country.
