E-Gaming Federation and National Law University form alliance to boost gaming policy in India

In a collaborative move aimed at knowledge development, research, and capacity building in gaming and technology policy, the E-Gaming Federation (EGF), India’s prominent skill-gaming industry body, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Law University (NLU), New Delhi, a leading law institution in the country. The MoU, signed on 2nd February 2024, reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to fortify India’s policy framework and contribute to elevating standards within the gaming and technology sector through advanced research and innovation.

As part of this strategic partnership, EGF and NLU will engage in collaborative projects addressing contemporary issues of public concern, exploring their legal implications and fostering a dialogue to exchange information that contributes to the progress of the gaming and technology sector.

Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai of NLU, commenting on the collaboration, stated, “EGF’s efforts to support the online gaming sector are commendable. We are enthusiastic about this knowledge development journey with EGF, aiming to provide informed insights for legal awareness and achieving political, social, and economic justice. We anticipate opportunities for capacity-building and collaborative learning through this partnership.”

Anuraag Saxena, CEO of EGF, expressed satisfaction with the MoU, emphasizing EGF’s commitment to building a community focused on education, research, and scholarship in the field of online gaming in India. He highlighted the goal of advocating for progressive policies that promote innovation, consumer protection, and responsible gaming. Saxena believes that partnering with National Law University is a significant step toward leveraging academic expertise for the benefit of industry stakeholders and the wider community.

The MoU signing ceremony, attended by Prof. (Dr.) G.S. Bajpai and Mr. Anuraag Saxena, also saw the presence of Dr. Raghav Pandey, Assistant Professor, NLU, and other faculty members. EGF, as the unified voice of the online skill gaming sector in India, represents the views of a majority, counting the top 5 Gaming Developers and Operators, including a Unicorn, among its members.
