Games24x7, an online skill-gaming platform in India, has facilitated the Pitch Day for its GameTech Accelerate program, providing a platform for seven emerging startups to showcase their innovative ideas. Launched in December 2023 in collaboration with the Government of Karnataka, the accelerator program aims to nurture promising ventures by offering mentorship, industry exposure, and access to potential investors.
Out of over 200 applications received, Playda, Pixcell Play, PlayCKC, Brahman Studios, NoobStorm, Pro Shooter VR, and Mantis Pro Gaming stood out as contenders, each bringing diverse perspectives to the online gaming landscape. Covering different areas such as new game development, real-time analytics, security measures, and community integration, these startups showcased their advanced approaches and potential impact on the gaming ecosystem.
Under the guidance of mentors from Games24x7, AWS, and Lumikai, the shortlisted startups received help to refine their strategies in preparation for presenting their visions to a panel of investors, including Peak XV, Prime Venture Partners, Sony Innovation Fund, and others.
Priyank Kharge, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology & Biotechnology and Rural Development & Panchayat Raj, Government of Karnataka, emphasized the state’s commitment to fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in emerging sectors like online gaming. He highlighted the GameTech Accelerate program as proof of Karnataka’s dedication to nurturing talent and driving advancements in the digital realm.
Rajat Bansal, Chief Technology Officer at Games24x7, commended the startups for their innovative spirit and vision, stating that the accelerator program aims to propel their journey to success by providing mentorship, guidance, and a platform to showcase their ingenuity.
The event was attended by government officials, including Dr. Ekroop Caur IAS, Hon’ble Secretary, Department of ITBt & ST, and Darshan HV, IAS, Director of Electronics, IT/BT & Managing Director of the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society. Games24x7, with the Government of Karnataka’s support, aims to foster collaboration and drive innovation in the gaming sector, further envisioning India as a global hub for gaming innovation.
