Milind Gaba and Iswarya Menon promote banned betting website Lotus365

Despite controversies and government notices, Lotus365 is still able to onboard Indian celebrities and influencers to promote its illegal betting website which was banned by the Indian government earlier this year.

This time popular rapper Millind Gaba (MG) and actress Iswarya Menon were spotted in two different adverts promoting the banned betting platform and encouraging their fans to forget fantasy games and bet their hard-earned money on the platform.

Gaba can be seen telling fans about elements of sports that they can put their money on. He goes on to say that one can even earn money by predicting who wins the toss which is, in other words, a form of betting.

On the other hand, Menon claims that “Lotus365 is India’s only legal and licensed company”. It is a well-known fact that betting and gambling are illegal in the country and, as mentioned earlier, this platform is also part of the list of banned betting sites.

Menon further claims that it is also the most secure website and offers different types of games. The promotional video has turned off commenting to avoid any negative reactions from fans.

Interestingly, as you would notice in the screengrabs above the videos also feature celebrities such as Suniel Shetty and Govinda. Not only them they also feature Nawazuddin Siddiqui and many more. Despite receiving negative comments on his Lotus365 promotional video Suniel Shetty appears to be fine to still promote the banned betting platform.

The celebrities can be fined up to Rs 50 lakh for misleading advertisements under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) 2019 and can be banned from appearing in any kind of advert for a year.

Lotus365, along with several other betting websites, was banned by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in February. Despite being banned, these websites are still operating through mirror domains.
