PUBG New State Mobile introduces new map ‘Lagna’ in February update

Published on:

New State Mobile has released a new map called ‘Lagna’ for its online battle royale game in the February update. The map is a desert-themed battle area and is 4×4 square kilometres in size.

While smaller compared to the 8×8 square kilometre map Tori, the new map is intended for quick mid to long range combat. Players are calling it a sniper’s paradise because the open, vast landscape and rocky ridges offer some of the best opportunities for sniper shots.

A new mode of travelling has also been added to the map. The tram system for earlier maps is replaced with cable cars for safe travel and healing. Along with the cable car, the map also brings two new vehicles for those who love to ride around.

The new update also brings a new battle pass along with other changes like increased blue zone damage. With this update, the farther players are from the safe zone, the more damage they will receive from the blue zone.

Currently, New State Mobile is the closest compared to PUBG Mobile and BGMI. Both of the games were banned by the government under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000 for misusing user data.

The game is set in the year 2051 and in the same universe as PUBG Mobile or BGMI, but as a futuristic version of those games. It features several futuristic weaponry and vehicles.

With the rapid rise in the number of gamers, other players are also moving on to different games. Most recently, the esports title for PC, Valorant, has been gaining traction with the top Valorant team from India ‘Global Esports’ being selected as a partnered team for the game.

A report from gaming-focused venture capital fund Lumikai also revealed that by 2027 the gaming market in India is predicted to reach more than $8.6 billion.
