A similar case previously occurred where a Durg Police Constable named Upendra Tiwari was found running an illegal betting ring using the Mahadev Book betting app. Tiwari was recorded confessing to running the betting ring in a viral video.

With the recent increase in online betting and gambling activities in the state, the police have also ramped up their operations. The Raipur police have already been on the lookout for other members linked to their recently arrested operators of Mahadev book.

According to a previous report, 14 people were arrested for operating Mahadev book. After an investigation, the police found over 30 crore in 17 bank accounts. Following the trial, the police have been conducting raids and search operations for people linked.

Chhattisgarh has recently been ruled as the base of operation for the international betting ring that is being operated from Dubai by Saurabh Chandrakar. He is dubbed as the mastermind of the whole operation, as is wanted by the police.

According to police estimates, the whole betting network is estimated to be worth Rs 4,000 crore and operates in several countries.
